These emails may appear legitimate and often include accurate property information, application details, or names of Town officials. They may request payment by wire transfer or ask recipients to reply for payment instructions.

These emails are NOT from the Town of Livingston.

How to Spot a Scam

Be cautious if you receive an email that:

• Requests payment by wire transfer.
• Instructs you to reply for payment instructions.
• Uses an email address that is not an official Town email address.
• Creates a sense of urgency or claims your approval depends on immediate payment.
• Asks that all communication be conducted exclusively by email.

What the Town Will Never Do
